The AZ Democratic Party's lawsuit hearing has begun.

Takeaways from today's audit hearing.

Senator Karen Fann’s conspiracy-fueled audit of our ballots got underway Friday, and it was not a pretty picture.

Enterprising local reporter Jen Fifield managed to infiltrate the secretive proceedings as an observer. What she found was a serious violation of election audit procedures—black and blue pens being used by the volunteer auditors. Only red pens are allowed to prevent auditors from marking the ballots in a way that might change how the ballots are scanned and counted. The story made it to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, and the Arizona Democratic Party filed a lawsuit to suspend the audit until procedures and training materials can be made public.

What could go wrong with an audit run by a company named Cyber Ninjas, whose owner has worked tirelessly to prove the election was stolen?

A lot, according to AZ Democratic Party Chair Raquel Teràn, who is now calling on Governor Ducey and Attorney General Brnovich to “put an end to this madness and protect our election systems from conspiracy theorists.” See Teràn’s press release here.
