How the American Jobs Plan Delivers Climate Action

In his announcement on April 22, President Joseph Biden committed the United States to cutting its greenhouse gas emissions to 50 percent to 52 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. This is the pace of reduction needed globally to stabilize global warming at 1.5 degrees Celsius, and in fulfilling this ambitious climate pledge, the United States will lead in ways the whole world can follow. Our ability to meet this goal over the next decade rests almost entirely on how the federal government chooses to act on climate change today.
