Half-Time at the State Legislature
Half-time at the State Legislature
This Week’s Call to Action
We have finally reached half-time at the State legislature. This means that most bills have made it out of the Senate or House and are “crossing over” to the other chamber for debate and another partisan vote. From there, bills go to Governor Ducey for his signature.
Sadly, this year’s Republican legislators continue to show their true colors—retaining power at all costs, even at the expense of families, employees, small businesses and your right to vote. Why would people, elected to support the Constitution of the United States and faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of their office, ignore the will of the majority of Arizonans? This is a question we should ask and urge you to consider doing just that.
Opportunities for the Request to Speak system continue this week, but with less intensity. The Legislative Weekly by Melinda Iyer also shares a long list of bad bills that are still alive but not available for RTS.
